John Crawley, also known as KingBeardX, passed away on Monday, August 18. He was just 47 years old. The influencer was best known for his comedic takes of how people eat. He died surrounded by family at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. John had been admitted two weeks prior for breathing difficulties. He ultimately lost his battle on Monday due to complications resulting from the breathing issues and cardiac arrest.
John was best known for amassing over 3.5 million followers on his social media channels. On TikTok, as KingBeardX (formerly known as Pimpmunkx), he was known to post hilarious commentary about food. Mainly he would humorously poke fun at the way people would eat.
John Crawley and his former podcast co-host Anthony Caruso would inject humor about daily occurrences in their podcast they co-hosted several years ago. John was recognized for his sharp wit and for his gray fluffy beard. He also didn’t hold back when it came to views about how people consumed their food.
One of his more famous posts was commenting about cinnamon buns. John hysterically made an amusing tutorial on ‘how to eat a cinnamon roll.’ The pastry posting had over 43 million views.
According to Caruso, Crawley was admitted to Northern Mississippi Medical Center several weeks ago for breathing issues. The oxygen level in his blood dropped to 66%. They were able to restore it once he was transferred to ICU.
Unfortunately, John still struggled with breathing problems. His friend Anthony Caruso stated on GoFundMe in part:
His condition is quite unstable… his breathing condition is still very bad.
Donations came into his GoFundMe page, as John was the primary breadwinner for his family. Now the funds are used to cover his funeral expenses.
James Steele, the funeral director at Glenfield Funeral Home, told TMZ said in part:
Knowing him personally, John was a good guy… he lit up a lot of people’s worlds. I just left his house and was with his mother, we prayed together…She’s torn up right now but she’s going to make it.
At this time, details about Crawley‘s memorial service have not been released publicly. There is a guest book open on the funeral home’s website and a GoFundMe page set up. Proceeds from that will now go to help his family.
John Crawley will be remembered for his kind nature, great sense of humor, and making people laugh throughout the day. One social media user remarked that they will never look at cinnamon buns in the same way again.
