What is swag? Through the years, the term swag has acquired multiple meanings. However, in pop culture, swag simply means, cool. That is exactly what Grammy winner Justin Bieber had in mind with his latest creation. Stylized as SWAG, the album is a melodic emotional escapade, capable of making us dance as well as reflect.
Released on July 11, 2025, SWAG is Bieber’s first album since 2021’s Justice. The surprise drop, which garnered 200 million first-day streams, features collaborations with Gunna, Sexyy Red, Dijon, and Lil B, among others. The album addresses various themes, including Bieber’s relationship with his wife Hailey Bieber and the paparazzi, as well as mental health issues.
Lead single, “All I Can Take” explores “symptoms of his sensitivity”, with Bieber expressing feelings of being misunderstood. With its alternative pop vibe, “Daisies” explores themes of insecurities and commitment in a relationship.
In January 2023, it was first reported that Bieber was focusing on his seventh studio album. After revealing in May 2022 that the album was almost finished, he officially finished recording in April 2025. On July 10, 2025, billboards featuring the word “swag” appeared in various locations around the world. These locations included Cambridge, Ontario, Atlanta, and Los Angeles.
Bieber rose to fame with his debut album, My World 2.0 (2010), which topped the US Billboard 200, making him the youngest solo male to do so in nearly 50 years. Its lead single, “Baby” (featuring Ludacris), became a best-selling single. Today, Bieber remains one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with over 150 million albums sold worldwide. This ultimately makes him one of the highest charting pop stars of the 21st century.
SWAG is available now on multiple streaming platforms.
