Kelly Clarkson opened up her 1,000th episode with a walk down memory lane, recalling special memories since her debut episode, which aired September 9, 2019.
"We have met some hugely talented people, tons of big stars and inspiring everyday heroes. We created a community and supported each other through a lot of ups and downs, a lot of ups and downs personally as well. We went through a pandemic together."
In 2023, the talk show moved to New York City before the start of its fifth season. Clarkson shared, "I hosted the show with an eye patch and with my leg in a cast, and those were two different shows 'cause that's who I am. My producers learned that I wasn't joking when I told them that I love magic like a 10-year-old and that I also can't cook. I told them in the beginning. Still can't cook."
The host continued to express, "For 1,000 episodes, we have laughed together, we have cried together with beautiful stories, sang together with some people, danced together, celebrated, and competed together. I've lost, alone, a lot and along the way, we found comfort in one another."
Clarkson was recently absent from multiple episodes of the show, having guests such as Simu Liu, Roy Wood Jr., Wanda Sykes, Josh Groban, Brooke Shields, Willie Geist, Molly Sims, Kal Penn, and Andy Cohen serve as hosts.
"Looking back, we are all incredibly proud of what we've built and the community we've created. I'm super proud of my whole crew, my band, everybody has done such an incredible job."
This episode's guests included Tyler Perry and Alicia Vikander. She performed Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing" with her bandmates and the musical guest was Venezuelan duo Mau y Ricky.
"We started with the intention of making connections and bringing people together, and it feels like we've been doing just that," she concluded. "I am grateful to everyone who has been a part of this journey. It has been such a cool time."
The singer will next have her 18-show Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum Theater at Caesars Palace, which is scheduled to begin on July 4 of this year.
