Before sharing their Mother’s Day plans on Live With Kelly and Mark, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos took to social media to celebrate the special holiday.
“Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there,” Ripa wrote via Instagram on Sunday, May 10. “This is your reminder that the days are long but the years are short.” In the post’s comments, Consuelos shared, “Happy Mother’s Day!!!! You are the best.”
Ripa’s post featured several sweet photos of herself and her three kids — Michael, Lola, and Joaquin — from over the years, including many adorable baby photos and more recent snaps. Her upload also included throwback pics of herself and Mark with their mothers, Esther Ripa and Camilla Consuelos.
Ripa and Consuelos met playing love interests on the soap opera All My Children in 1995 and eloped in Las Vegas the following year. They became parents with the birth of their eldest child, son Michael, in 1997, followed by Lola and Joaquin in 2001 and 2003, respectively.

The couple kicked off the Monday, May 11, episode of Live by telling viewers how they spent Mother’s Day. “I had a great one. We had a great one. Two of the three kids were home, and they had a great idea. This is so unlike us. It hasn’t happened in years and years,” Ripa told viewers.
It was Joaquin who came up with how the family should celebrate, and he texted Kelly his idea from backstage at Death of a Salesman on Broadway. “He goes, ‘I thought it’d be fun if we had McDonald’s for your birthday,’” Kelly shared. “And I said, ‘Uh, it’s not my birthday.’ And he goes ‘I mean Mother’s Day. You know what I mean.’ And so, we had McDonald’s. I had a Big Mac and large fries. It was so fun. I was like, ‘This is crazy.’”
Both Kelly and Mark joked that their burgers didn’t seem as big as they were in years past. “Maybe we’re just bigger now. We’re bigger now, and it used to seem bigger,” Mark quipped. Kelly added, “It was delicious. I had the best time. You know what cleanup was? Trash. Done. It was great.”
Mark wrapped up the Mother’s Day discussion by poking fun at Kelly for bringing out nice plates for their fast-food dinner. “I put plates out on the table because I wanted to make it nice, it was Mother’s Day,” she stated. “And then, I just put them right back.”

The pair’s kids shared their own Mother’s Day tributes to Kelly via social media on Sunday. While Michael posted a childhood photo of himself and his mom, Lola shared footage of herself and Kelly during a recent photo shoot.
“Happy Mother’s Day mommy i love you more than words can describe,” she wrote. “Thank you for everyhing thank you for this amazing life thank you for making our days brighter thank you for your unconditional love.”
