Ken Jennings Reveals How ‘Jeopardy!’ Drives His Wife ‘Bonkers’

Ken Jennings loves the perks of his Jeopardy! hosting gig, including one particular advantage it gives him in his home life.

Speaking to People at the opening night of the TCM Classic Film Festival in Hollywood, California, on April 30, the game show host admitted that his role on Jeopardy!, “Weirdly, gives me a bit of a parenting advantage.”

“Like, if you’re the host of Jeopardy!, your kids will believe you when you try to parent,” Jennings explained. “And it drives my wife bonkers, [she’ll be] like, ‘I just said that same thing. Why are you believing dad?’ And they’re like, ‘Host of Jeopardy!‘”

Jennings won 74 consecutive games when he competed on Jeopardy! in 2004, the longest streak in the show’s history, before taking over as host in 2021 following the passing of the iconic Alex Trebek. He also won the show’s The Greatest of All Time tournament in 2020.

He met his future wife, Mindy, at Brigham Young University, and the pair tied the knot in 2000, shortly after graduating. The couple share two children, a son, Dylan, born in 2002, and a daughter, Caitlin, born in 2006.

Jennings told People that his son has a keen knowledge of trivia just like his dad, though he doesn’t expect Dylan to turn his skill into a career. “He doesn’t want to compete in his dad’s domain, and that’s fine by me,” Jennings stated.

In September 2025, Jennings and Mindy celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with a trip to Australia. Jennings shared an Instagram photo alongside his wife at the Sydney Harbour, writing, “I’m not sure where the years went or how I got this lucky, but this marriage is officially 25 years old. It can now rent a car!”

“This week is also the 25th anniversary of the Sydney Olympics, but that’s not why we’re here,” he quipped. “That would be a weird system for planning an anniversary trip.”
