KPop Demon Hunters creator Maggie Kang has hinted at a sequel.
The record-breaking animated Netflix film, which sees fictional K-pop group HUNTR/X face-off boy band The Saja Boys, who are demons, has become a cultural phenomenon, with over 325 million views.
The music, meanwhile, has smashed records, with the HUNTR/X track Golden (performed by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and REI AMI) sitting atop the Billboard Hot 100 and Official UK Chart for eight weeks, making history as the joint-longest-running No.1 single by an animated act in UK chart history.
All eyes will be on the Oscars next year, after Netflix revealed Golden has been submitted for awards.
In a new interview, Kang has confirmed it's unlikely the last we've heard of KPop Demon Hunters.
She told BBC Entertainment correspondent Colin Paterson: "There's definitely more we can do with these characters in this world.
She continued: "Whatever it will be, it will be a story that deserves to be a sequel, and it will be something that we want to see."
Kang said of the global fanbase: "They were just spreading the word of this movie everywhere."
There might be more on the way, but Kang has ruled out bringing the animated characters to life.
She said: "It's really hard to imagine these characters in a live action world.
"So totally it wouldn't work for me."
