Kristin Wiig's "Palm Royale" is coming back for a second season on Apple TV+

Heading into Palm Royale, Apple TV+’s period-piece dramedy based on a novel, the show initially seemed destined to be a limited series. By the end of the first season, however, it was clear the creators were hoping for a second installment. For a while, though, it wasn’t certain a follow-up would happen — the show had performed well, but not spectacularly, and it’s undeniably an expensive production. Of course, Apple isn’t short on resources. For some time now, we’ve known a second season was coming, and now we finally have some details, including the first-look photos.

Apple TV+ didn’t hold back with the preview photos, but Palm Royale has an extensive ensemble cast. Kristen Wiig, of course, is front and center, remaining the star and emotional anchor. Set at the turn of the decade as the ’60s give way to the ’70s, Wiig plays Maxine, a social climber determined to break into Palm Beach’s elite society circles. Naturally, there are secrets, lies, and blackmail — think Desperate Housewives with vintage flair.

The logline for season two gives a hint of what’s in store for Maxine:

She’ll have to draw on her deep well of cleverness and cunning to prove  once and for all, that not only does she belong, but she just might have  what it takes to rule this town. Along the way she will uncover untold  truths and finally understand what this town is truly built on — secrets, lies and the occasional felony.

The 10-episode second season premieres on Apple TV+ on November 14. True to Apple’s usual release strategy, no full-season binge drops with new episodes rolling out through January 14, 2026. Season two is said to be “bigger” than the first, so fans can expect plenty of over-the-top, soapy drama.
