Tony Stark sold his famous New York City skyscraper in Spider-Man: Homecoming. That was way back in 2017! Ever since we’ve speculated about who actually bought the building that became Avengers Tower. Was it the Fantastic Four? Kingpin? Norman Osborn? Turns out the answer is none of them! The newest trailer for Thunderbolts* features the team of anti-heroes meeting at that iconic building because it now belongs to Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.
Marvel Studios debuted a “special look” at Thunderbolts* during Disney’s D23 Brazil. The action-packed trailer features a lot of what we’ve already been expecting from the film. There are plenty of laughs, a litany of explosions, the group fighting among themselves, and David Harbour’s Red Guardian being the superhero dad we all deserve. Oh yeah, and Bob is also here. Bob. Bob.
What we didn’t expect from this Thunderbolts* trailer was to finally get an answer to one of the MCU’s longest outstanding questions. That shot of the team in the elevator, the one Marvel has been teasing for a very long time, has an incredible payoff. They’re riding the elevator at what was once Avengers Tower. It is now the property of Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. She tells the Thunderbolts, “To think of all the monumental fights that happened exactly here where you’re standing. I mean, the place wasn’t cheap, but it’s got good optics.”
Hooooo baby that last line is fun. Val has been putting together her own team of “heroes” with checkered pasts. What better way to sell a new, questionable superhero group to the public than by having them operate out of a building that symbolizes bravery and teamwork? In that way Val buying Avengers Tower is less about making a big real estate investment and more about a pricey marketing strategy. It’s a good one, too. It’s already working on us.
Her ownership of Avengers Tower could also answer another major MCU question we have. This team’s own name has a giant asterisk attached to their movie’s title. It would be only fitting for them to work out of Avengers Tower if they end up being called the Dark Avengers when the film debuts May 2, 2025.

Phillies' Rob Thomson announces Alec Bohm news
The Philadelphia Phillies offense has been a force throughout the 2025 season, averaging 4.6 runs per game — ranking ninth in MLB. However, the lineup hasn’t been at full strength recently, as third baseman Alec Bohm has missed most of the second half. The 29-year-old was selected third overall by Philadelphia in the 2018 MLB Draft and made his big-league debut in 2020, breaking out with a second-place finish in NL Rookie of the Year voting. While he hasn’t consistently replicated that early success, Bohm remains a productive bat and earned his first All-Star selection last season. Phillies announce update on injured third baseman Alec Bohm In 2025, Bohm is batting .278 with a .715 OPS, eight home runs and 42 RBI over 353 at-bats. He is on the 10-day injured list due to a fractured left rib, suffered after being hit by a pitch during a game against the San Diego Padres on July 12. Although he initially played through the discomfort, imaging later revealed the fracture, prompting his placement on the IL. Manager Rob Thomson provided a positive update, saying that Sunday was the best Bohm has felt since the injury and that he hit off the machine on Monday. Edmundo Sosa, Otto Kemp filling in at third as Bohm recovers In Bohm’s absence, teammate Edmundo Sosa has regularly started at third base. Sosa has appeared in 60 games this season, batting .261 with a .706 OPS and four home runs. Otto Kemp has also filled in at the hot corner, and in 13 games during the second half, he’s added pop to the lineup with three home runs and a .773 OPS. Still, the Phillies will be eager to get Bohm back in the lineup, as he’s been the most consistent producer among their third base options. His return will be key as Philadelphia battles in a tightly contested NL East race.
Green Bay Packers: 2 Notable Former Wide Receivers Labeled as Surprise Cut Candidates
As the Green Bay Packers deal with their own crowded wide receiver room, multiple former Packers pass-catchers are also embroiled in position battles across the league. Notably, two veterans that turned in many successful seasons in Green Bay now find themselves battling to make rosters and have been labeled as big names that could become surprise cuts when rosters are trimmed down. New York Jets May Soon Be Done With Former Green Bay Packers Receiver Allen Lazard Former Packers receiver Allen Lazard was always a favorite of Aaron Rodgers during their time together in Green Bay. When Rodgers left the franchise, Lazard ended up following the quarterback to the New York Jets. While the Rodgers era for Gang Green has gone up in flames, Lazard remains on the roster – for now. Lazard entered camp as the presumed second receiver behind Garrett Wilson, but so far, fellow veteran Josh Reynolds has seemingly beaten out Lazard for the second spot. A former Detroit Lion, Reynolds has reportedly been building a good rapport with new signal-caller Justin Fields, leaving Lazard potentially relegated to slot duties. Although the Jets have receiver depth problems, some experts don’t believe that Lazard will survive cuts. The Athletic’s Zack Rosenblatt has stated that he does not expect Lazard to be on the 53-man roster. Some names behind Lazard on the current depth chart include veteran Tyler Johnson and rookie Arian Smith, both of whom have had flashes of ability in camp so far. Several of the younger players also offer one thing that Lazard notably doesn’t – the ability to play on special teams. If Lazard is cut by the team, it would mean the team would have moved on from another former Packer after dumping both Rodgers and Davante Adams this summer. Can Former Green Bay Packers Receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling Stick in Seattle? Marquez Valdes-Scantling was a member of the Green Bay Packers from 2018 to 2021, playing out his rookie contract with the team while being a big part of the offense. He had over 2,000 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns for the green and gold before leaving for Kansas City in free agency. In 2025, Valdes-Scantling was with the New Orleans Saints until he signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks worth around $4 million. Despite the 29-year-old being a proven veteran and solid deep threat, Valdes-Scantling currently finds himself near the edge of the Seahawks roster. Rookie receiver Tory Horton has already surpassed Valdes-Scantling on the depth chart and has been the fourth receiver in the team’s first-team rotation so far. Valdes-Scantling has been relegated to the second unit in training camp practices as of early August. Respected NFL writer Brady Henderson has said that Valdes-Scantling has “barely made any” plays throughout camp so far, whereas Horton has continued to catch eyes and has been nicknamed “Jerry Rice Jr.” by teammate Tariq Woolen. Like Lazard, Valdes-Scantling does not offer much on special teams either, and although the Seahawks would love to have a deep threat to compliment Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp, if Valdes-Scantling does not show up in camp, the team could move on from the former Green Bay Packer with little financial consequence.
Cowboys' problem with Micah Parsons may hand Steelers a franchise QB
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been one of the most-talked-about NFL organizations throughout the course of the 2025 offseason. One of the biggest headlines that was attached to the franchise involved a rare May trade that sent George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys. Many expected the wide receiver to be dealt before or during the NFL Draft, but after a move didn't occur, it was believed that he would play out the final year of his rookie contract in the Steel City. Now, he is teaming up with CeeDee Lamb in the NFC, and a duo has been formed that could be very dangerous. Unfortunately for fans of the Cowboys, the two wide receivers have not been the talk of Dallas' training camp. Team owner Jerry Jones is playing hardball with edge-rusher Micah Parsons, and the talented defender recently requested a trade. The decision not to pay Parsons yet has left Jones under intense scrutiny, given the fact that the pass-rusher is one of the league's best. Jones' recent comments also show how dysfunctional the situation has become. In a recent appearance on ESPN's "Get Up," respected analyst Dan Orlovsky found a way to relate Parsons' situation to quarterback Dak Prescott, insinuating that if Jones does indeed trade Parsons, Prescott's Super Bowl window in Dallas would close. "If they trade [Parsons], and I don't think they do, if they trade him, it declares the Dak Prescott era over," Orlovsky said. "This team has no shot of winning a Super Bowl without Micah Parsons. No shot, and if you're doing it, it's to acquire a ton of first-round picks, so you have the ammunition to go get an Arch Manning of the future." The Steelers are set to have 12 draft picks in 2026, which gives the front office plenty of options when it comes to bringing in the next franchise quarterback. Instead of drafting one, however, could an available Prescott be a target for general manager Omar Khan? Orlovsky believes trading Parsons away would upset the Cowboys' best players. "There's no way that you can go to your locker room with Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, some of the first-round picks you have on your offensive line, Trevon Diggs, and go, 'Hey, go beat Philadelphia when you don't have Micah Parsons. Go beat the Rams when you don't have Micah Parsons.' Your locker room will sit there and go like, 'Oh, well you've obviously moved on, so we're going to start our process of moving on as well.'" Any team interested in acquiring Prescott would have to take a long look at his contract. Some of the cap hits are astronomical in the coming years, but Khan is known to be a guru when it comes to the finances in deals. There's no reason to believe that he couldn't make something work for Prescott if a trade were to happen during the 2026 offseason. Fans in Dallas shouldn't be panicking just yet, but there were already some rumors about Prescott's long-term position with the Cowboys during the 2025 offseason. Certain reports were eventually debunked because it was quite literally impossible for Jones to entertain the idea of dealing Prescott after the franchise altered the quarterback's contract. Prescott has a no-trade clause, but that can always be waived, especially if he is upset about how Jones moves forward. If the Cowboys trade Parsons and pick up a plethora of draft capital, and then go on to invest in a first-round signal-caller, Prescott may be requesting to be traded as well. That's a long way away from happening, but the Steelers immediately come to mind as a team that would likely be interested. The Steelers' best-case scenario would be the emergence of Will Howard It's not easy to make a name for oneself in the NFL, and it's even tougher for players like Will Howard who were drafted in the sixth round. Pittsburgh will be in the quarterback market once again in 2026 if Aaron Rodgers is serious about retirement, so it would be a fantastic development if Howard solidifies himself as the next starter in the Steel City.
Green Bay Packers: Tucker Kraft Shares Concern Level on Issue That Nearly Became a Bigger Problem
Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft has been among the many players on the team who got banged up at training camp. Tucker missed a couple of practice sessions with a lower-body injury, including last Saturday’s Packers Family Night. But on Tuesday, Kraft finally returned to practice, as the off-day on Sunday got him extra time to rest up. Kraft’s appearance on the field on Tuesday was an encouraging sight for the team and Green Bay fans, especially with the 2025 NFL season just weeks away. The former South Dakota State Jackrabbits star is widely regarded as an important piece in the Packers’ passing attack, with many expecting him to make another big leap in 2025. He had 355 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 31 catches and 40 targets in his rookie season in 2023, when he produced 707 receiving yards and seven touchdowns on 50 receptions and 70 targets. Green Bay Packers TE Tucker Kraft not worried about groin injury Concerns about Kraft’s groin injury have been quelled not just by his appearance on the field but also by what he said on Tuesday. Via Packers reporter Rob Demovsky of ESPN: TE Tucker Kraft, who missed two practices because of a groin injury, returned on Tuesday. Said Kraft: “I realized I better just get this to calm down before it turns into something big. You guys saw me out there today practicing. Everything’s good.” It will be interesting to see whether Kraft will get some snaps this coming Saturday when the Packers take on the New York Jets at home in Week 1 of the 2025 NFL preseason, though, he’s probably just going to see a handful of them at the most if he plays at all.
