Lexi Minetree has been cast as Elle Woods in the 'Legally Blonde' prequel series.
The role of the sorority-girl-turned lawyer was initially played by Reese Witherspoon in the 2001 film, and the Hollywood star told Lexi on Thursday (13.02.25) that she will be starring in the title role of the upcoming Amazon series 'Elle'.
She said: "Your audition tape was amazing, and as we talked about we had to make a really hard decision the other day and we wanted to tell you in person because you just worked really hard.
"We just wanted to tell you that you don't have to audition anymore, because you got the part. You're Elle Woods".
Prior to landing the coveted role, Lexi had studied theatre at the University of Southern California and appeared in the TV movie 'The Parademic Who Stalked Me' as well as an episode of 'Law and Order: Special Victims Unit' in 2024.
The starlet burst into tears upon learning the news that she had landed the part in the upcoming series, and said: "Wait, I want to call my mom!"
Reese spoke to Lexi's mom Anne, and she was in disbelief that 'The Morning Show' star was on the phone to her.
She said: "When I saw her tape, I was like 'Are we the same person? This is so weird!'"
'Legally Blonde' started life as a 2001 novel by Amanda Brown and follows party girl Elle as she follows her boyfriend to Harvard Law School when he breaks up with her to attend the prestigious establishment, and she cracks a murder trial in the process.
It was quickly adapted into a film and became a sleeper hit for MGM.
Reese reprised the role in 2004 for the sequel 'Legally Blonde: Red White, and Blonde', and direct-to-video movie 'Legally Blondes' starring former Disney Channel actress Rebecca and Camilla Rosso in 2009.
A musical adaptation opened on Broadway in 2007 with former 'Wicked' actress Laura Bell Bundy in the main role, and when she left, MTV headed up a reality TV show called 'The Search For Elle Woods', where Bailey Hanks won the part.

The Golden State Warriors have had their free agency headlines dominated by one individual name, Jonathan Kuminga. For what feels like an eternity, the Warriors have been stuck in a standstill with Kuminga. The 22-year-old forward believes he's capable of being a max contract player, but the Warriors don't seem to have maximizing him in their current timeline - that much was evident after the team traded for Jimmy Butler. It's clear that Kuminga does not want to be a member of the Golden State Warriors any longer. Every day, a new headline emerges coming from either side of the camp, but no resolution has been found. As the headlines have been growing, Kuminga gave a simple message on social media. "And at the buzzer, the Golden State Warriors will say, 'Alright, well, we can't afford to lose him for nothing, and Malik Monk and a protected pick, that's much better than nothing. So let's go ahead, do the deal, and be done with it.' " While the Bulls and Bucks have trade interest, it seems like the package that they want from the Golden State Warriors may not work financially. Does Kuminga Staying With the Warriors Make Sense? Realistically, Jonathan Kuminga staying with the Golden State Warriors does not make sense. He does not want to play for the team, and the team did not play him consistently after acquiring Jimmy Butler. Even during the playoffs, he was only really used as an emergency scenario. For a team as serious about winning as the Warriors, it does not make sense to keep a younger player who could potentially disrupt the chemistry. At the same time, it makes sense for the team to want to get the maximum value out of Kuminga and not trade him hastily.
The Dallas Cowboys need to figure out what to do with Micah Parsons because whatever they're doing right now isn't working. Team owner Jerry Jones said he was willing to "stir the pot" when asked about Parsons' contract stalemate and trade request. Given Parsons' character, that may have rubbed him the wrong way. However, that's not the only contract situation they need to address. While everybody's focused on the Penn State product, CB DaRon Bland is also waiting for an extension of his own. More importantly, he recently said that he hoped it would get done before the Cowboys open the season on Sept. 4. "I do, but I'm not here to talk about it really too much," Bland told the team's website. "But yea, hopefully." Jerry and Stephen Jones aren't that fond of players setting deadlines for contract negotiations, and they've shown that they're willing to wait until the very last second to get a deal done, relationships be damned. Bland has been an instrumental piece of the Cowboys secondary, especially with fellow CB Trevon Diggs struggling with injuries. When asked about his goal for next season, he opened up about his desire to dominate opposite Diggs. "Always hopeful for both of us to be healthy first of all, and for both of us to show out on the field together. Can't wait until it happens," Bland said. Still, given the way the Cowboys have treated their stars and have dealt with contract situations, it wouldn't be much of a surprise to see Bland also go to desperate measures to get what he's earned.
You can never have too many upgrades on a football roster, and the Washington Commanders are keeping their options open with a couple of free agents who could boost at a certain position. The top priority of the team is to protect the franchise quarterback Jayden Daniels, and that comes from bolstering the offensive line. Recent workouts show that the Commanders are prepared to sign the top offensive tackles available if they need to. Commanders have a mutual interest with two free agents The Commanders hosted two standout free agents that could signal how they feel about the depth at offensive tackle. They brought in veteran offensive tackles George Fant and Cam Fleming for visits, but may not be done yet. Neither player ended up signing with the Commanders, but it's been reported that the team will remain in contact with Fant and Fleming. The left side of the line has had an interesting offseason so far, and the Commanders are ready for worst-case scenarios. Laremy Tunsil was one of the biggest moves for the Commanders' offseason, but he recently had a minor injury, but nothing to be concerned about. Still, though, one injury can make the line fall apart, and they need depth at tackle. The Commanders had Nate Herbig randomly retire during training camp, which led to the team signing Lucas Niang as the corresponding move. Niang tore his ACL in the first preseason game, and he's likely out for the season. They still have some pieces they can move around, but it seems like they'd rather bring in a bigger name. Fant was with the Seattle Seahawks last season, but only played in 30 snaps. Previous to that, he logged 962 snaps at right tackle and 42 at left tackle as a starter for the Houston Texans. He's 33 years old and can provide a ton of experience with almost 5,000 career snaps on both sides of the line. The team is also keeping in contact with Cam Fleming, who has over 4,300 snaps on both sides as well. Adam Peters clearly values experience and doesn't want to just roll out somebody who hasn't proven themselves in the league to protect Daniels, and you have to respect that. Both Fant and Fleming are right at 33 years old, and they obviously wouldn't be long-term pieces, but smart moves for protecting the depth of the line. They can also move Andrew Wylie and Trent Scott over in an emergency. There's no telling if rookie Josh Conerly Jr. will start Week 1, but the team is prepared for everything possible.
Well, well, well. It seems like 2025 is turning into the year where Olympic champions and NFL stars are crossing paths more than a confused GPS. First, we had NFL owners giving the green light for players to compete in the 2028 Olympics. Then Michael Phelps decided to play swimming instructor to the Baltimore Ravens. Now, Olympic snowboarding sensation Chloe Kim has joined this bizarre sports crossover trend by showing up to watch her boyfriend, Cleveland Browns Defensive End Myles Garrett, practice. Kim Makes Her Browns Debut At Joint Practice The two-time Olympic gold medalist made quite the entrance at the Browns-Eagles joint training camp practice on Thursday. And naturally, because this is 2025 and nothing happens without social media documentation. She recorded the whole experience on her Instagram story. First up was a snapshot of Noah the Eagle, Philadelphia’s “animal ambassador.” Then came the real content. A video of Garrett warming up with his Cleveland teammates. Attending your boyfriend’s practice is cute and all, but when you’re a world-class athlete dating an NFL superstar, it becomes a whole different kind of spectacle. Kim isn’t just any girlfriend cheering from the sidelines. She is someone who has dominated the halfpipe at two consecutive Winter Olympics, claiming gold medals in PyeongChang 2018 and Beijing 2022. The woman knows a thing or two about peak athletic performance. The Power Couple’s Origin Story The relationship between Kim and Garrett first sparked public interest earlier this year when eagle-eyed fans spotted them together at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in Tokyo back in May. Nothing says “we’re definitely dating” quite like attending anime awards ceremonies together in Japan, right? It is actually kind of refreshing to see two high-profile athletes bonding over something as wonderfully nerdy as anime conventions. Kim’s presence at Browns practice adds another layer to what’s already shaping up to be a fascinating NFL season for Cleveland. Garrett, entering his ninth year in the league, remains the cornerstone of the Browns’ defense and the face of the franchise. The former top overall pick has never played for anyone else, which in today’s NFL is about as rare as finding a parking spot at the mall during Christmas shopping season. Garrett’s Expensive Need For Speed Speaking of Garrett making headlines, the defensive superstar managed to grab attention for all the wrong reasons just last week. The man got himself cited for speeding. We are not talking about a measly five-over-the-limit situation. No, Garrett was clocked doing 100 mph in a 60 mph zone at 2 a.m. on a Saturday. This wasn’t Garrett’s first rodeo with the speed limit police. This latest ticket marks his eighth speeding violation since being drafted in 2017. At this point, the Ohio State Highway Patrol probably has a dedicated file cabinet just for his citations. Maybe Kim can teach him about the importance of maintaining control and staying within boundaries. Skills that seem pretty transferable from snowboarding to driving. The Olympics-NFL Connection Grows Stronger Kim’s appearance at Browns practice is just the latest example of how the worlds of Olympic competition and professional football are becoming increasingly intertwined. The NFL’s decision to allow players to participate in flag football at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics has opened up a whole new realm of possibilities for crossover appeal. It is almost poetic. Here we have Kim, who’s spent years perfecting her craft on snow-covered mountains around the world, now watching her boyfriend perfect his craft on the considerably more mundane grass fields of Ohio. Both involve incredible athletic ability, split-second decision-making, and the kind of dedication that most of us can barely muster for our morning coffee routine. What This Means For Both Athletes For Kim, showing up to support Garrett demonstrates the kind of relationship goals that make the rest of us feel slightly inadequate. She is not just dating an NFL player; she is actively engaging with his world while maintaining her own incredible career trajectory. It is the kind of mutual support system that probably makes their relationship stronger than most Hollywood power couples who can barely remember each other’s names. For Garrett, having a two-time Olympic champion in his corner adds a unique dynamic to his already impressive support system. She understands the pressure of performing on the world’s biggest stages, the mental fortitude required to compete at the highest level, and the dedication necessary to maintain peak performance. Her insights could prove invaluable as the star NFL player continues his pursuit of that elusive Super Bowl championship with Cleveland. The sight of Kim at Browns practice also sends a message to the rest of the NFL: this couple isn’t playing around. They are both serious competitors who understand what it takes to win at the highest levels of their respective sports. Whether that translates to on-field success for the Browns remains to be seen, but it certainly does not hurt to have Olympic-level support in your corner.
