Fans were beyond excited when Leighton Meester, Adam Brody's real-life wife, was cast in the second season of Nobody Wants This as Kristen Bell's high school nemesis and momfluencer, Abby.
While we still have a few months to wait before the series returns and we meet Abby, the actress did open up about her experience, telling The Hollywood Reporter, "It’s a show where everybody feels happy to be there. I truly do watch him [Brody] and forget that I’m watching my husband."
A comedy centered on the unlikely relationship between an outspoken, agnostic woman, Joanne, and an unconventional rabbi, Noah.
Miles Fowler, Arian Moayed, and Alex Karpovsky have also been confirmed to join the season 1 cast, which includes Bell, Brody, Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Paul Ben-Victor, and Tovah Feldshuh.
"If I’m doing eight episodes of a show, I have to think, 'Are the people nice? Will the long hours be fun?' Because I don’t want to be in a situation where the vibe is off,” Meester continued to express. "I've had plenty of experiences where I’m like, 'I wish this was cooler.'"
As for what fans can expect from season 2, Erin Foster shared with IndieWire, "It’s gonna be romantic and funny. I’m not in the business of depriving people of what they want on a show like this, and making some like, artistic choice to rob you of what you want to see. I really tried to stay on point with Season 1, [it] was all these firsts, first kiss, first date, and this is going to be the next four to six months of the relationship what that looks like."
Additionally, the creator confirmed that there will not be a time jump and that the new episodes will pick up a week or two after the finale.
The upcoming season of Nobody Wants This will premiere October 23 on Netflix.
