Lili Reinhart and Emma Chamberlain highlight cast for upcoming "witchy femme cult" film 'Forbidden Fruits'

It's official, Deadline has reported that Lili Reinhart, Lola Tung, Victoria Pedretti, Alexandra Shipp, and Emma Chamberlain will star in Forbidden Fruits, which has been acquired by IFC Films and AMC Networks' Shudder.

Free Eden employee Apple secretly runs a witchy femme cult in the basement of the mall store after hours – with fellow fruits Cherry and Fig. But when new hire Pumpkin challenges their performative sisterhood, the women are forced to face their own poisons or succumb to a bloody fate.

The film will serve as Meredith Alloway’s feature debut and is adapted from Lily Houghton's play Of the Women Came the Beginning of Sin, and Through Her We All Die.

Alloway expressed, "I’m so grateful to have found a home for Forbidden Fruits with IFC Films, a studio who continually encourages filmmakers to experiment, hone their voice, and play within the medium. IFC Films has produced and distributed so many films that have directly inspired me over the years."

The director also added, "The team has gifted me creative freedom and support in every step of the process, down to advocating for a theatrical release — a true gift to any filmmaker. This cast of incredible artists has exceeded my wildest expectations. As a true fan of all of their work, it’s an absolute thrill to see them bring these characters to life. I can’t wait for the world to see the way they shine through Forbidden Fruits."

Lili Reinhart is known for her role as Betty Cooper on The CW's Riverdale, which ran for seven seasons. She also starred in Hustlers, Look Both Ways, and Chemical Hearts.

Lola Tung currently stars in Prime Video's The Summer I Turned Pretty, which has its third and final season premiering in July. Upcoming, she will be seen in I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Victoria Pedretti is recognized for her roles in The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, and You.

Alexandra Shipp's notable work includes Barbie, X-Men: Apocalypse, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Anyone But You, and tick, tick... BOOM!.

This will be Emma Chamberlain's debut performance. Forbidden Fruits is currently in production and aiming for a 2026 theatrical release.
