Long-gestating Lana Del Rey album has a new title and release date

Back in April, Lana Del Rey dropped a track called 'Bluebird,' teased as part of her next album. At the time, the record didn’t even have a name, though it had carried one before. Now Del Rey says the album finally has a fresh title and a new release plan. Whether this version actually sticks remains to be seen.

Lana Del Rey’s last record, the countrified 'Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd,' dropped in 2023. Early in 2024 she announced her next album, then called 'Lasso,' would land that September. By midyear it had morphed into 'The Right Person Will Stay' with a May 2025 release date. Then the title vanished, though Del Rey kept dropping songs fans assumed belonged to the project.

Now, the album has a new name, 'Stove,' according to Del Rey, and will “likely” arrive at the end of January. That’s only a two-year wait, which means she hasn’t gone full 'Chinese Democracy' on us… at least not yet.

To be fair, Del Rey insists she hasn’t just been stalling. She says she tacked on six new tracks, explaining that they turned out “more autobiographical than I thought, and that took more time.” So, if the delay means a bigger, meatier album, her fans may not mind the wait. Still, let’s be honest, 'Stove' isn’t exactly the kind of title that sets the world on fire.
