Megan Park's My Old Ass stole hearts at Sundance this year, where critics gave it a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes for being "a poignant depiction of how short of a flicker adolescence lasts".
Now Amazon MGM Studios has released the first trailer which previews what to expect from this heartfelt coming-of-age tale led by Maisy Stella, featuring Aubrey Plaza.
In this fresh coming-of-age story, an 18th birthday mushroom trip brings free-spirited Elliott (Maisy Stella) face-to-face with her wisecracking 39-year-old self (Aubrey Plaza). But when Elliott’s “old ass” starts handing out warnings about what her younger self should and shouldn’t do, Elliott realizes she has to rethink everything about family, love, and what’s becoming a transformative summer.
Joining Stella and Plaza in the cast are Percy Hynes White, Maddie Ziegler, and Kerrice Brooks.
My Old Ass was produced by Tom Ackerley, Margot Robbie and Josey McNamara of LuckyChap Entertainment with Steven Rales, alongside executive producers Daniel Bekerman, Bronte Payne and Megan Park.
It will be released exclusively in theaters on September 13.
