Mandy Moore joins NFL series on Hulu in reunion with 'This is Us' creator

Hulu appears content to stay in the Dan Fogelman business. The streamer scored a hit with 'Paradise,' a series that reunited Fogelman with star Sterling K. Brown, despite mixed critical reception. Fogelman was previously the creative force behind ABC’s 'This Is Us.' Now, Hulu is preparing another 'This Is Us' reunion.

Mandy Moore will star in Dan Fogelman’s upcoming Hulu drama set in the world of the NFL. Details remain limited, though the project is described as a “generational family” series centered on professional football. The involvement of the NFL itself is expected to draw attention, given the league’s broad popularity.

Moore, who earned acclaim in Fogelman’s 'This Is Us,' will play the daughter of a team owner, portrayed by William H. Macy. Christopher Meloni is also set to star as the team’s head coach. Additional cast announcements are expected.

While Fogelman’s 'Paradise' drew criticism despite its commercial success, the new series appears closer to his wheelhouse: a family-driven drama that leans into emotional storytelling. How prominently the NFL features in the series may prove crucial to its reception.
