Michael B. Jordan is laying his emotions bare in A Journal for Jordan, but that's not the only thing.
On Thursday's (Dec. 9) The Late Show with Stephen Colbert , Jordan discussed being directed by Denzel Washington for the forthcoming romantic drama, and Colbert pointed out that Washington chose to include shots that show the 34-year-old actor's bare bottom.
"The question is, obviously: is this a stunt butt or is this your butt," Colbert asked.
"I do my own stunts," Jordan confirmed.
A Journal for Jordan is based on the true love story of U.S. Army 1st Sgt. Charles Monroe King, played by Jordan, and Dana Canedy, played by Chanté Adams. The screenplay, written by Virgil Williams, was adapted from Canedy's 2008 bestselling memoir by the same name, which was inspired by a journal King wrote fatherly advice in for his then-infant son, Jordan, while serving a tour of duty in Iraq.
King was killed by a roadside bomb in October 2006, a month away from returning home for good.
Elsewhere with Colbert, the Creed star unpacked what lessons he took away from reading King's original journal in preparation for the role:
