In a recent podcast appearance on the "Travis Hunter Show," rap icon Lil Wayne offered fans a surprising glimpse into a different side of his personality — his fierce competitiveness on the tennis court.

Speaking with his usual humor and authenticity, Wayne revealed that he shares a deep bond with his close friend, whom he affectionately calls "T," describing him as "more like a brother" than a friend.

"T was born and created to do everything better than everybody, he's one of those guys," Wayne said with a laugh. "T and I are very competitive at — nobody would even imagine this — tennis."

The revelation adds another layer to the multifaceted persona of Lil Wayne, who is widely known for his musical genius but has often kept his personal hobbies under wraps. His comments highlight not just his love for tennis but also his intense competitive nature, which extends beyond the music industry and into the world of sports.

“We go hard- we are literally a part of a club already,” says Wayne. “Tennis Bruh! we thought it was like basketball, we thought we could just walk up to the court and start playing it was like-'y'all got to be part of the club' we're like what club? With that said, T and I are now members of about 3-4 clubs."

“But yes tennis is very unexpected, not table tennis, not pickleball, none of that, straight tennis, you serve-you ready? You ready? Is you ready?” said an energetic Lil Wayne. “Ever since I played in Barcelona when I went there for my birthday, it never ended.”

Wayne's passion for tennis is not a new development. In the past, he has shown public support for Latvian tennis star Jelena Ostapenko. After praising her performances, Ostapenko responded with warmth, even extending an invitation for Lil Wayne to attend her matches. Their mutual admiration sparked excitement among fans from both the music and tennis worlds, bridging the gap between the two very different audiences.

Wayne’s growing connection to the tennis community showcases how sports continue to influence and inspire him. Whether it's supporting top players like Ostapenko or engaging in spirited matches with his closest friends, Lil Wayne's enthusiasm for the game is clear.

As he continues to balance his legendary music career with his personal passions, Lil Wayne’s openness about his love for tennis offers fans a refreshing look at his life off the stage — a reminder that even the biggest superstars find joy and fierce competition in the simplest of pleasures.
