Netflix gives us our first look at its "Pride & Prejudice" adaptation

Jane Austen is one of the longest-enduring authors, and her novel "Pride and Prejudice" is probably her most-popular work. A limited series production has been in the works over at Netflix, and we already knew some of the casting, such as Oscar winner Olivia Colman and Jack Lowdon). Well, Netflix has given us our first look at the adaptation:

It's fitting that the first look dropped on the U.K. (and Ireland) Netflix Instagram account, since the story, and the cast, is oh-so-British. Some additional cast members were revealed including Rufus Sewell and Fiona Shaw.

As for the image, it's what you would expect. Bunch of old-timey ladies in old-timey hats. It's "Pride and Prejudice," after all. Nobody is getting "a sense" of the series from this, since no wheels are being reinvented. This is just to get people thinking about it and anticipating it. Perhaps, on that front, it has worked.
