Netflix has given Arnold Schwarzenegger's "FUBAR" the ax

One of the biggest movie stars of all time and a newly-minted Oscar nominee couldn't save Netflix's action-comedy "FUBAR." The second season of the show hit Netflix in June, but there will not be a third season as "FUBAR" has been canceled.

"FUBAR" is about a grizzled CIA agent who finds out his daughter is also a CIA agent, and vice versa. The father-daughter duo are played by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Monica Barbaro. Arnold needs no introduction, but Barbaro has become a bigger name since the show debuted after earning an Oscar nomination for "A Complete Unknown." Not only that, but the second season added Carrie-Anne Moss.

However, it would seem the first season got lookey-loos, but didn't generate much enthusiasm. The first season debuted in 2023 and became the most-viewed show on Netflix in its premiere week. Unfortunately for the "FUBAR" folks, the second season ranked a mere eighth after its premiere week, and total viewership (measured in minutes) dropped 73 percent. That's...a lot.

We don't recall hearing much chatter about "FUBAR" after its first season, so it is easy to imagine people wanting to check out the TV show starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, not liking it, and not bothering with season two. Both of the stars will be just fine, though. Barbaro is one of the stars of "Artificial," Luca Guadagnino's artificially intelligence dramedy. As for Schwarzenegger, well, he's a living legend and impossibly wealthy so he pretty much just does what he feels like.
