Ever since Netflix first became a force in the entertainment industry, the streaming service has provided its customers with the opportunity to enjoy content produced by other companies. However, the fact that Netflix has produced so many popular original shows, movies, and specials that people want to see has played a huge role in its ongoing success.
Even though the company losing the license to stream content produced by other companies is expected, most users would likely assume that Netflix Originals would always stick around. However, Netflix has removed original programming from its media library in the past for a variety of reasons. Now, it has been revealed that a long list of Netflix Originals that include TV shows, movies, and specials will be removed from the company's offerings in 2026.
On December 16, 2025, What's on Netflix published a full list of the Netflix Originals that are known to be leaving the streaming service in 2026. That list reveals that some of the company's original content will leave throughout every month of the coming year.
It is important to note that some of the entries in the list below include content produced by other companies, as long as there is a Netflix Original involvement. Arrested Development is a perfect example of that because all 5 seasons of that show are included on the list because they will be departing Netflix in 2026. However, the first three seasons were produced by Fox, and only the last two seasons actually qualify as Netflix Originals. The entries that are listed below with an asterisk beside them are a mix between being a Netflix Original and being produced by another company.
