Netflix sets premiere date for season 55  of 'Sesame Street'

The new season will arrive on Netflix on Nov. 10, with the first four episodes of season 55 debuting that day. In the United States, new episodes will hit Netflix the same day they air on PBS, and they will also stream on PBS Kids, PBS’ digital platform. That means Ernie, Elmo and the rest of the gang will still be available to households without Netflix, as PBS continues to carry the show over the air.

Sesame Street’ is a groundbreaking children’s television series that first premiered in 1969 and has since become one of the most influential educational programs in history. The show uses a mix of live-action, puppetry, and animation to teach kids literacy, numeracy, and social skills. With beloved characters like Big Bird, Cookie Monster, and Oscar the Grouch, ‘Sesame Street’ blends entertainment with curriculum-based learning, making it both engaging and effective. 

One of the rare kids’ shows most parents can actually tolerate, ‘Sesame Street’ will soon bring its iconic mix of education and entertainment to Netflix.
