After four insane seasons of Netflix's "You", it's time to say goodbye to Joe Goldberg and find out whether the past finally catches up with the serial killer and all that he's done over the years? You'll have to tune into the fifth season on April 24 to truly find out, but Netflix did just drop the official trailer to keep fans theorizing until then.
In the epic fifth and final season, Joe Goldberg returns to New York to enjoy his happily ever after… until his perfect life is threatened by the ghosts of his past and his own dark desires.
The last season will star Penn Badgley, who is also an executive producer, Charlotte Richie, Madeline Brewer, Anna Camp, and Griffin Matthews
With his new Prince Charming title, a famous Joe is in the spotlight rather than under the radar, which means there's a good chance that some familiar faces will show up to help take Joe down once and for all. In fact, we see Amy-Leigh Hickman's Nadia, who Joe framed for murder, seemingly in jail and Kathryn Gallagher's Annika saying that Joe "absolutely killed" her best friend Peach (portrayed by Shay Mitchell). Hopefully, Tati Gabrielle and Jenna Ortega pop up as well.
Ortega was actually supposed to return as Ellie Alves in season 4. "We wanted to bring Ellie back and we heard, 'Oh, Jenna is doing some show,'" Sera Gamble explained to IndieWire. "It’s been just such a pleasure to see Jenna this year. We have ideas for Ellie if her schedule allows her to visit us again."
Executive producer and co-showrunner Michael Foley told Tudum, "We always said that we would stop after five and [that], in a perfect world, we would bring Joe back home to New York. We loved the idea of things coming full circle for him. We’re excited by the fact that Joe came home as such a different person than [who] we saw in Season 1. At the core of our final story for Joe is this dichotomy of the old and the new."
Based on this trailer, one thing is for sure: fans are in for a really wild ride.
