The world is a pretty murky place these days. One thing that always seems to make it better is having some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles something-or-other in the ether. That way you can say “Well, this isn’t great, but at least there’s some turtles eating pizza and the like.” After the success of 2023’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem—which was a lot better than I expected—Paramount has kept the TMNT active with a spinoff TV series. This holiday season, however, those selfsame green teens will return to movie theaters in a brand new animated short. The title? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Chrome Alone 2: Lost in New Jersey.
You can check out a teaser for the short right here.
The short, which will play before The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants beginning December 13, will see our four heroes forced to travel outside the warm confines of Manhattan to the dark, mysterious… New Jersey! The premise looks fun, with the brothers realizing someone has made toys based on them. Who’d do such a thing!
One thing we cannot overlook when discussing this short is that Donatello is apparently pro-AI. He defends ChatGPT and calls it inputting error if the results are bad. This is funny, especially because the first time I saw the art style of the Mutant Mayhem version of the characters, I thought it was AI. It is not really. It just kind of looked like it. Sorry to everyone. Anyway, generative AI is indefensible.
At any rate, the Home Alone-joke titled short will feature the voices of Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, Brady Noon, Beck Bennett, and Zach Woods.
