Things are probably taking a lighter shift for Taylor Swift. Actually, she feels relieved after a recent legal update involving her friend Blake Lively. But she is still worried, as sources say she fears getting pulled back into the case at a bad time.
Veteran entertainment insider Rob Shuter reported that a judge dismissed 10 of Lively’s 13 claims against Justin Baldoni. A source close to Swift told Shuter the ruling“eased her immediate concerns.” The same source added, “It’s a huge relief. This case just got dramatically weaker.”
Still, Swift stays cautious. She continues to follow every update as her wedding to Travis Kelce approaches.
“She’s watching everything,” the insider said. “Because the last thing she wants is her name or her texts dragged into this again.”
Swift is worried because of things that have already happened. Court documents showed private texts between her and Blake Lively. That pulled Swift into a situation she never wanted to be part of.
Baldoni’s legal team also claimed that Swift and Ryan Reynolds pressured him during a 2023 meeting about script changes for It Ends With Us.
This brought Swift into a public legal issue, which she did not want. Now, with a trial set for May, she is worried about getting even more exposure. Any new detail could pull her back into all these at a sensitive time.
At the same time, pressure builds on Lively from her own circle. A source told Shuter that people close to her want her to settle. “They think enough damage has already been done,” the source said.
Lively has chosen a different path. She plans to move forward. After the ruling, she shared a statement reported by ABC News journalist Bethany Braun-Silva. “I’m grateful for the court’s ruling, which allows the heart of my case to be presented to a jury next month,” Lively wrote.
Legal experts say the case still carries weight. Three claims remain active, including retaliation allegations. Both sides appear ready for trial. Reports also say Baldoni has rejected settlement talks.
For Swift, timing creates the biggest issue. Her wedding plans now sit alongside a case that refuses to end.
“She wants this wrapped up before her summer wedding,” the source said. “The timing couldn’t be worse.”
Swift now focuses on keeping her personal life private.
