Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie will lead the new Wuthering Heights film from Saltburn and Promising Young Woman director Emerald Fennell, and the film has now found its studio match.

Deadline dropped the intel that Warner Bros Motion Pictures Group won the bid for the film from MRC, which will be produced by LuckyChap and written by Fennell, adapted from Emily Brontë's classic novel.

Warner Bros won over popular streamers, including Netflix and Amazon, as Fennell and Robbie were keen to get this story in front of a theatrical audience, even though Netflix reportedly offered as high as $150 million for the project.

Deadline reports that Warner Bros supposedly paid around half the Netflix offer but has committed to a theatrical distribution model which will put the film in theaters worldwide.

Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy of Warner Bros have said, "We are thrilled to partner with MRC, Emerald Fennell, and LuckyChap for this feature film adaptation of Wuthering Heights."

They continued, saying, "From the moment we were introduced to Emerald's vision for the film, and with an incredible cast led by Margot and Jacob, we were instantly committed to forging a partnership with this team to ensure the movie was brought to theaters around the world."

Fennell was equally thrilled by the collaboration, saying, "I'm so excited to be working with the amazing team at Warner Bros, and to once again be partnering with the brilliant MRC and LuckyChap."

Wuthering Heights does not have a release date, nor does it have a confirmed date for production to commence.
