Offset's first date with Cardi B was at Super Bowl LI: 'I went big'

Some guys bring flowers to a first date. Offset brought Cardi B to the biggest sporting event in America.

"My first date, I went big," the hip-hop artist told guest host Anthony Anderson on Tuesday's Jimmy Kimmel Live. "I wanted to do something that was not normally done, you know what I'm sayin'? I wanted to have fun and not so serious and [an] enjoyable time, so I took her to the Super Bowl."

"I don't know the number, but I know who was playing, though," he continued. "Atlanta Falcons, my team, versus them Patriots."

Cardi and Offset had the best first date imaginable for the first three quarters of the game. The Falcons were up on New England 28-3 before Tom Brady led the Patriots on an unprecedented comeback, eventually winning 34-28 in overtime. In that context, assuming how mad Offset must have been, it's actually miraculous that there was a second date.

"I lost $10,000 that night, too," the Migos member added. "But you know what I won? My wife."

The couple secretly wed in September 2017, but Offset still publicly proposed to her in late October. Their first child, a daughter named Kulture, was born in July 2018, but Cardi filed for divorce three months later. She called off the divorce after several extravagant public displays of affection and pleas for forgiveness from Offset. (Check the full timeline of all their ups and downs.)

Most recently, the Grammy-winning Invasion of Privacy rapper announced another pregnancy on stage with Migos at the BET Awards in late June:

The baby will be Offset's fifth child overall and second with Cardi.
