Osgood Perkins is delivering a new horror film called Keeper, and its first official trailer just launched. From the director who gifted us The Monkey and uncovered Longlegs, come along on a nice, long weekend getaway to a not-so-nice and dread-filled cabin in the woods that holds something sinister in its walls.
As the first trailer for this upcoming horror film, not much can be given away just yet. The trailer is a series of women staring at the camera, smiling while eyeing the “stranger” from across the room. Each woman is set in their place and time, interacting with the “stranger”; however, the remaining shots show each woman appearing more distressed as the “stranger” continues to appear while the music in the background starts to get louder. The end has every one of the women with their faces coated in blood as the camera angle closes in on their screaming faces. The only spoken phrase in the trailer comes at the end, stating, “This place isn’t right for me.”

What we know so far is that the story is going to be centered around a couple who are on a romantic retreat to a remote cabin. The couple will be played by Rossif Sutherland, from the Possessor horror thriller, and Tatiana Maslany, from Orphan Black. The movie will explore the dread of isolation when Tatiana’s character is left alone in the cabin as the structure divulges its evil secrets from a malevolent presence.
Neon Studios gained the film rights in May 2024 and is in charge of the U.S. domestic release. Writer Nick Lepard and producers Chris Ferguson and Jesse Savath are just a few crew members working on the film. With 2 bizarre and impressive films in just 2 years, Keeper will be marked as Perkins’ third film. Keeper is set for a theatrical release on November 14, 2025.
Osgood’s track record so far is great and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere but up. Just the atmosphere of the trailer is haunting, and filled with questions that leave us wanting to know more despite the scenes of bloody whaling women. We can expect a twisted, dark trip from what is given, as well as intense performances from gifted actresses and actors. If Perkins’ previous films could say anything about what is to come with the director’s third installment, the chimp would clap with glee while Longlegs laughs manically at the fear that will rip across our faces.
