Anime is as big as ever across the globe, including in the United States, and that trend has even taken shape on Netflix.
According to a post from the popular streaming service, over half of its subscribers watch anime.
And, along with that, some great news for anime fans: Netflix is adding more over the course of July, and throughout the rest of the year into 2026.
"With more than half of Netflix’s members watching anime, there’s no denying the genre’s global impact," Netflix's article read. "Our upcoming slate brings even more to get excited about, from new introductions to complex characters to the highly anticipated return of fan favorites."
So far this month, Netflix has dropped Season 2 of Dan Da Dan and has new episodes of The Summer Hikaru Died weekly, also.
Coming up this year, Netflix will have Leviathan (July 10), Sakamoto Days (Season 1, Part 2, July 14), My Melody & Kuromi (July 24), The Flagrant Flower Blooms With Dignity (September 7) and Record of Ragnarok (Season 3, December).
In addition, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is labeled as "coming soon" and Part 2 of the final season of Beastars is planned for some time in 2026.
According to Patrick Brzeski of The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix has tripled its anime viewership over the last five years, and anime content was viewed more than one billion times last year alone.
