Paddington in Peru is the third Paddington live-action movie, and you can see its first official poster now.
“I hope marmalade sandwiches are waterproof,” tweets the official Paddington account alongside an action-packed scene. It shows everyone’s favourite talking bear hanging onto a speeding ship for dear life using an umbrella.
On the boat looking markedly less concerned are Oscar-winner Olivia Coleman (she plays a singing nun), Emily Mortimer, and Julie Walters. Antonia Banderas makes his Paddington debut, looking dashing in a white linen suit. If you had to guess a villain of the piece in the absence of Hugh Grant’s Phoenix Buchanan, who is currently in prison, it would probably be Banderas.
He does seem friendly enough in the first trailer, however. “Smooth, strong, easy on the eye. And that’s just the boat,” he tells Paddington and his adopted family, the Browns.
In fact, the only member of the boat not looking calm is Hugh Bonneville, who’s currently alarmed at the sight of a massive tarantula crawling over his life jacket.
As per the official synopsis, “Paddington in Peru brings Paddington's story to Peru as he returns to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now resides at the Home for Retired Bears. With the Brown Family in tow, a thrilling adventure ensues when a mystery plunges them into an unexpected journey through the Amazon rainforest and up to the mountain peaks of Peru.”
When does it come out? Paddington in Peru announces its release date.
