In 2013, legendary sports analyst Paul Finebaum joined ESPN and began "The Paul Finebaum Show." Before that, he was the host of "Paul Finebaum Radio Network," and he has now become a regular on a variety of ESPN shows, including "Get Up" and "First Take."

Finebaum is a popular name in the world of college football and is known as the "Voice of the SEC." With Week 1 right around the corner, there is plenty of chatter about the upcoming season.

And, during an episode of "The Paul Finebaum Show," he took callers as usual. This time, however, it contained an interesting twist.

Caller Asks For Apology From Paul Finebaum in Wild Back and Forth

A caller named "Old School" from Biloxi, Mississippi, called into the show on Friday, and that's when the back and forth began.

After an awkward opening where the caller asked how Finebaum was doing, then asked if Finebaum wanted to know how he was doing, the conversation began.

"You remember back in 1955, Paul Finebaum. There was two summer babies born, wasn't it? One of those babies turned out to be honorable and respectful, and the other one turned out to be a little lying, backbiting weasel. Do you know which one is which?" the caller said.

"You tell me you're not going to do something, you do it. Then you start attacking my fans," the caller continued.

That's when Finebaum stepped in with a statement.

"If you've got something to say to me, say it. Don't beat around the bush, don't play games, just spit it out," Finebaum said.

"I want a formal apology from me and from my fanbase," Old School stated.

"First of all, I don't know what I'd be apologizing for because I have no idea who you are," Finebaum replied.

As the caller rambled on, Finebaum replied by saying, "Are we in court here?"

The back and forth continued between the caller and Finebaum.

"Old School, I got a name, it's not bro, OK," Finebaum added. "Why don't you take a breath, number one, and tell me how I lied to you."

After Old School mentioned something about Squirrel and ESPN, Finebaum replied in a perplexed form.

"I don't even know what you're talking about," Finebaum said. "By the way, is homie a sub-terranian to bro?"

The caller then called Finebaum a "little Kim Kardashian" as the rant continued and he repeatedly called Finebaum "bro" and "homie."

"Number one, I still don't know who you are," Finebaum said. "I don't know why you're upset, I don't know why you're accusing me of lying, and why don't you, in a nutshell, tell us what this is all about? End the mystery."

The caller then said it's "about honor" and "moral fiber" and "standing up as a man," as Finebaum continued to look confused as to what was unfolding on his show.

At the end of the segment, Finebaum added some more: "We had to cut him off because he broke the decency barrier," and Finebaum then said he is a "homie and a bro" as the show went to a commercial break.

To be frank, Finebaum doesn't seem to know what this caller is referencing, nor does anybody else.

The caller is from Mississippi, meaning his fan base could be either Ole Miss or Mississippi State, although he doesn't explicitly say that during the segment.

Nonetheless, it's quite the confrontation between the caller and Finebaum.

Finebaum is widely known for having controversial takes and not being afraid to call out players and head coaches, as well as programs in general.

Moreover, fans regularly hop on Finebaum's show to express their displeasure with takes, but this one reached a different level.

Finebaum was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and attended the University of Tennessee. He has also become popular for his SEC bias and has raised plenty of eyebrows throughout the years.

Still, fans seem to enjoy Finebaum's show and his back-and-forth with callers during the episodes.

Nonetheless, nobody seems to have any idea what Old School is referring to or if listeners — and Finebaum — will ever find out.
