Rachel Zegler received some support from her former The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes co-star and West Side Story director while performing in the West End production of Evita.
"My angel who has gone to bat for me and loved me thru every moment! and lord knows i would do the same for him come rain or shine," the actress wrote about Tom Blyth on her Instagram Stories, sharing photos of their backstage reunion.
Meanwhile, Blyth shared, "RACHEL ZEGLER JUST CASUALLY GIVING THE STAGE PERFORMANCE OF A LIFETIME." The two starred in the 2023 The Hunger Games prequel as a young Coriolanus Snow and Lucy Gray Baird, a tribute from District 12.
As for Steven Spielberg, the director gave Zegler her first film role as María in the 2021 reimagining, which was adapted from the original 1957 Broadway show.
"We had a very special guest @officialevita last weekend — a man who believed in me when i was 17 and is the reason i was ushered into the many opportunities i have been blessed with thus far. seven years later and he’s still so supportive of every venture, and i couldn’t be more thankful. steven spielberg, you changed my life," she expressed, accompanied by photos all the way back to working on the musical together. "i may never be truly able to return the favor, but i hope a performance of “rainbow high” every now and then gives you some comfort in knowing i am taking care of the career (kristie and) you’ve so graciously given me. grateful isn’t the right word. indebted, maybe. you get the picture."
West Side Story is streaming on Disney+. Zegler will be having her first-ever solo West End concert on Sunday, October 5, at The London Palladium.
