The worlds of television, film, and mixed martial arts have become increasingly intertwined, with fighters crossing over into acting. UFC fighters, both retired and active, seek opportunities beyond the cage as streaming platforms and studios continue to tap into the world of MMA.

This merger of industries isn’t new, but the UFC’s global rise has accelerated the trend, turning fighters into multifaceted entertainers.

UFC women’s flyweight legend Valentina Shevchenko is set to make her acting debut in season 2 of “The Terminal List”, starring Chris Pratt. The Kyrgyzstani fighter, known for her dominance in the Octagon, will bring her intensity to the screen in an undisclosed role for the Amazon Prime thriller series.

Shevchenko shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), and added her thoughts in a quote repost, saying, “Back to action. Happy to be a part of an amazing team.”

The UFC flyweight champion also shared a post by the show’s official account that posted pictures of her with cast members after she successfully defended her flyweight title against Manon Fiorot at UFC 315.

Shevchenko’s transition to acting comes at a pivotal moment in her career. After successfully recapturing the flyweight title from Alexa Grasso and defending the belt against Fiorot, she continues to solidify her legacy as one of the greatest female fighters of all time.

Her discipline and physicality make her a natural fit for The Terminal List, a series based on high-octane action and military intrigue.

This isn’t the first time Shevchenko has dabbled in entertainment. She previously appeared in Halle Berry’s MMA film Bruised (2021) and played the role of the film’s antagonist.

At the age of 37, it is unclear whether or not Shevchenko will balance filming with a return to the Octagon, or if she will schedule a fight camp after she is done working on the show.

With production underway, however, details about Shevchenko’s role remain under wraps. Her participation signals a growing trend of the UFC world meshing with TV and movies, with Zhang Weili recently starring in a movie, “After Typhoon,” and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson playing the role of MMA legend Mark Kerr in “The Smashing Machine.”
