Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony details revealed

While we won't know the inductees until May, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced Tuesday that the 36th annual induction ceremony will be Oct. 30 at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland.

The 2020 class did not receive an in-person ceremony due to the COVID-19 pandemic—it was replaced with an HBO special—so this will be the first time the Hall is back in Cleveland since the Quicken Loans Arena was rebranded to Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.

The Rock Hall's official release stated: "The recently transformed FieldHouse provides a new and truly world-class venue that prioritizes health and safety and offers increased space and flexibility to host the Induction Ceremony in Cleveland as part of a multi-year partnership."

According to Cleveland.com's Troy L. Smith, the ceremony's move from the Public Auditorium to Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse "more than doubles (and possibly triples) the number of fans that can attend." Smith added: "In terms of seating capacity, the arena will be the biggest venue to ever host an Induction Ceremony."

Nominees for the 2021 class were announced last month:

The annual induction ceremony alternates between Cleveland and New York City, while the physical museum has called Cleveland home since September 1995.
