Even the cult hits get legacy sequels these days! Especially when they can tap into movie stars that appeal to a slightly-older film-going demographic.
Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman were two of the biggest stars of the 1990s. As such, you'd have thought their 1998 witchy comedy "Practical Magic" would have been a big hit. It actually didn't even make its budget back and got mixed reviews. However, because Hollywood is truly mining every bit of nostalgia possible, "Practical Magic 2" is happening, and it has a release date.
The spell is cast. The date is set. Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman return. Only In Theaters September 18, 2026.

Mark your calendar for September 18, 2026. "Practical Magic" starred Bullock and Kidman as the Owens sisters, two witches cursed to bring death upon any man they fall in love with. It's silly and slight, but in the ensuing years after it flopped it became a cult hit. Bullock and Kidman remain movie star-ish, or at least still have some of that movie star cache.
Hey, as far as witch comedies that appeal to a Millennial audience goes, a "Practical Magic" sequel is more palatable than a "Hocus Pocus" sequel, and we already got that.
