Stevie Nicks' Brother Christopher Nicks Dies at 72

Christopher Aaron Nicks, Stevie Nicks' younger brother and only sibling, has died at 72, according to his daughter.

Nixi Parkinson Nicks announced the death in an Instagram post on Sept. 4. She said her father died early that morning surrounded by family and described the announcement as difficult to make.

Nixi also said Christopher had privately dealt with a cancer diagnosis for approximately two and a half years. She explained that he had chosen not to make the illness public because he did not want people to worry about him. No further medical details were provided by the family.

Christopher Nicks had a direct connection to his sister's music career. He co-wrote "The Nightmare," a song on Stevie Nicks' 1985 solo album Rock a Little. The credit gives his death a place in the history of Stevie Nicks' catalog beyond his role as a family member.

Christopher also remained connected to the wider Fleetwood Mac circle. Mick Fleetwood shared a tribute after the announcement, recalling memories of Christopher's life and his relationship with the Fleetwood Mac family. Fleetwood described Christopher's energy and enthusiasm as an enduring source of inspiration.

The family announcement did not include funeral or memorial-service details. Stevie Nicks had not issued a separate public statement as of publication.
