'Ted Lasso' star Brett Goldstein on cursing during Emmy speech: 'Proud of it'

It wouldn't have been right for Ted Lasso breakout star Brett Goldstein to accept his Primetime Emmy for his excellent portrayal of gruff, proficient swearer Roy Kent without cursing.

"Proud of it," Goldstein told Seth Meyers on Late Night of acceptance speech that CBS had to bleep more than once. "They told me not to, repeatedly. A few people said, 'If you win, don't swear.' And I was like, 'Why are you saying this?' Like, now I'm gonna do it twice. And the more you say it, the more—I mean, if they'd kept saying it, the speech just would've been f—k, f—k, f—k, f—k, f—k."
