The 20 best TV show prequels

There are so many great shows on television that leave audiences wondering about the events that led up to their existence. Many of these questions are answered through prequels, which delve into the origins of certain worlds and characters that are already well-known to viewers. When done right, a TV show prequel can be as good, if not better, than its successor. The best prequels aren’t just entertaining, but allow fans to see the original shows through a whole new lens.
