The best reality shows from each of these major U.S. cities

The Real Housewives of Atlanta debuted in 2008 and became an instant classic thanks to NeNe Leakes, Kim Zolciak, and Shereé Whitfield. The reality stars had iconic feuds that produced legendary one-liners, like, “Close your legs to married men” and “Who ‘gon check me, boo?” 

By now, most people know Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise has a series in several major cities. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills first premiered in October 2010 and has since aired 13 seasons. Notable cast members include ‘90s sitcom actor Garcelle Beauvais, Days of Our Lives star Lisa Rinna, and Wild Things lead Denise Richards.  

Who knows where Potomac is? We didn’t before this Real Housewives series aired on Bravo in 2016. It’s the second Housewives iteration set in the DMV area after the Real Housewives of DC was canceled in 2010. 

New York is a melting pot of diverse personalities, and the revamped version of the Real Housewives of New York City showcases that. You can stream Season 14, which features fashion mogul Jenna Lyons and the rest of her co-stars arguing about petty things, like if Tribeca is an up-and-coming city, on Peacock. 

After several years off the air, Bravo and Peacock teamed up to bring this beloved series back to life after putting it on pause in 2013. The latest season showcases Scottie Pippen’s ex-wife, Larsa, and her boyfriend, Marcus Jordan, ruffling their co-stars’ feathers and embracing their inner delusion.

We couldn’t leave this show off the list. Of course, there’s MTV’s Jersey Shore, but Bravo’s Real Housewives of New Jersey is golden TV — mainly thanks to Teresa Giudice and Jennifer Aydin. 

Southern Charm is one of Bravo’s highest-viewed series that initially followed a group of singles living and mingling in Charleston, South Carolina. While chasing their dreams and setting goals, this group of friends share many laughs but just as many tears, thanks to the show’s scandalous storylines.   

Big Rich Texas is about doing it large in the Big D. This 2011 reality series followed a group of mothers and daughters navigating life in Dallas’ high society. Of course, there are explosive feuds, as one could expect with any ensemble show, especially one where status is everything.   

MTV’s The Real World likely filmed a season in your favorite U.S. city during its nearly 30-year run on the air. From Philly to Denver and Portland, each season was full of drama, leaving viewers craving more. 

If you liked Jersey Shore, you’d love Party Down South. The series showcased a group of young individuals partying harder than ever in locations like South Carolina, Savannah, Georgia, Mississippi, and St. Petersburg, Florida. 

If we’re honest, we didn’t watch Black Ink Crew to see the subpar artwork; we tuned in for the OMG moments from Donna, Alex, Caesar, and, most importantly, Sky.

Kim, Kourtney, and Khloé have had many spin-offs to their wildly successful series, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, but one of the most captivating had to have been their Hamptons-based series in 2014. 

Buddy Valastro definitely put his bakery in Hoboken, New Jersey, on the map during his family’s TLC series, Cake Boss. The series' success turned Carlo’s Bake Shop (a.k.a. Carlo's Bakery) into a tourist attraction and led to other spin-offs, including Kitchen Boss and Next Great Baker. 

Southern Charm’s popularity led to spin-offs in Savannah, Georgia, and New Orleans, Louisiana. The latter’s cast featured news personalities, former NFL players, and aspiring musicians hoping to advance their careers in the Big Easy while overcoming challenges in their friendships and romantic relationships.

Real Housewives of Dallas never had a fighting chance to succeed among an audience that holds the bar pretty high. Even though it was canceled after five seasons, the 78 episodes we did get were drama-filled enough to leave us wanting more.  

Basketball Wives initially took place in Miami, Florida. However, the series was relocated to Los Angeles in recent years. Notable cast members of this reality show classic include Shaunie O’Neal and The Real World’s Tami Roman. 

Season 7 of Oxygen’s Bad Girls Club is one of the most entertaining seasons this beloved classic has ever seen. Cast members like Judi, Tiara, and Stassi gave us BGC lovers 15 episodes of iconic television we’ll never forget. 

Following the success of BGC 7, Oxygen upped the ante during Season 8, sending the group of seven women to Las Vegas, Nevada, and even featured the show’s first set of twins. Although most of the cast was highly unlikable, this season was an absolute dumpster fire and a must-watch.  

You can follow a group of Persian-American friends living luxuriously in Beverly Hills. The cast is stacked full of complex characters. Are they friends or enemies? Honestly, it’s hard to decipher, but it sure is enjoyable to watch.
