I will always and forever believe that small towns and seemingly serene suburban neighborhoods are the scariest places on Earth. The secrets, tales, and rumors sway through the trees of places that are seemingly forgotten by larger society. There’s someone always watching you, especially if you’re new in a community that is wary of all things unfamiliar. That’s why they are the perfect setting for all things horror. Keke Palmer’s new series The ‘Burbs shows this in its first trailer as she moves into a suburban neighborhood with her husband.

The couple relocate into her husband’s (Jack Whitehall) new home to start their life fresh. Things are unsettling, especially considering the neighborhood is predominately white. But, things get weird and deadly when a mystery man moves into the presumably haunted murder house across the street. Secrets come to the surface and everyone is giving each other the side eye.
The ‘Burbs trailer reveals that this story will absolutely lean more into the horror comedy arena, which fits Palmer and Whitehall perfectly. In fact, this Peacock series is inspired by the 1989 horror comedy flick of the same name starring Tom Hanks.
All eight episodes of The ‘Burbs will hit Peacock on February 8.
