We have some major The Devil Wears Prada 2 casting news to celebrate! Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Helen J. Shen, Conrad Ricamora, and Caleb Hearon are all set to join Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Simone Ashley, and Kenneth Branagh.
However, that's not all: Tracie Thoms, who portrayed Lily, and Tibor Feldman, who played Irv Ravitz, will both reprise their roles for the upcoming follow-up film. This comes after it was confirmed that Adrian Grenier will not be involved.
The Devil Wears Prada came out back in 2006, and the sequel will reportedly follow "Runway’s terrifying editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Streep) as she navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing. She faces off against Blunt’s character, her one-time assistant who is now a high-powered executive for a luxury group, with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs."
Director David Frankel is back with Wendy Finerman and Karen Rosenfelt producing. Aline Brosh McKenna, who adapted Lauren Weisberger's book, is also returning.
Liu is best known for Kill Bill: Vol. 1, the Charlie's Angels trilogy, Pearl, Ally McBeal, Chicago, and Set It Up. Theroux can most recently be seen in Poker Face and Running Point. The two previously worked together in 2003 on Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.
Novak starred as Ryan Howard in The Office, serving as a writer for the beloved comedy as well. Chalamet is recognized for her role on HBO Max's The Sex Lives of College Girls.
Shen and Ricamora have notable Broadway performances in Oh, Mary! and Maybe Happy Ending, respectively.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is now in production and scheduled to be released on May 1, 2026.
