Thor's 'Avengers: Doomsday' trailer has arrived (Watch)

Rumor has it that Avengers: Doomsday will have more than one trailer coming for us. We already saw Chris Evans return as Steve Rogers in one teaser trailer for the next Avengers movie. And now, we can confirm the rumors are true. Because we officially have a second Avengers: Doomsday trailer, and this one stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor. Like Steve Rogers’ Doomsday trailer, Thor’s sneak peek tells a mini-story. But this one isn’t quite so perfectly content. You can watch the new Thor-centric Avengers: Doomsday trailer below.

Oh, Thor. In sharp contrast to Steve Rogers’ idyllic, untouched life, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor is readying himself for reluctant battle in this Avengers: Doomsday trailer. We see Thor kneeling on the ground, speaking to his dead father, Odin, as the trailer opens up. Thor says, “Father, all my life I have answered every call, to honor, duty, to war. But now fate has given me something I never sought, a child. A life untouched by the storm. Lend me the strength of the Allfathers, so that I may fight once more, defeat one more enemy, and return home to her, not as a warrior, but as warmth, to teach her not battle, but stillness, a kind I never knew. Please, Father, heed my words.” As Thor speaks in this Avengers: Doomsday trailer, we also see flashes of his life with his daughter Love, who has grown up some since Thor: Love and Thunder.

Well, presumably, the enemy Thor wishes to fight and defeat is none other than Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday. Truly, we wish Thor well on this quest. And hey, at least we know he’ll have some help in the battle.
