You can count down to midnight with Stranger Things 5‘s finale on December 31, or you can watch it a bit later on New Year’s Day.

The Stranger Things 5 finale screenings will start in movie theaters on December 31, 2025 at 5:00 pm PT, timed to the finale’s global premiere on Netflix, and run through January 1, 2026.

But just how long will you be sitting in a theater to watch Stranger Things 5‘s final episode? Netflix has confirmed the official runtime of Stranger Things 5: The Finale, a.k.a Volume 3, a.k.a “The Rightside Up” will be 2 hours and 5 minutes.

Stranger Things 5 will release on Netflix across three premiere dates: Volume 1 is now streaming (Episodes 501-504), Volume 2 will arrive on December 25 (Episodes 505-507), and Stranger Things 5: The Finale will land on December 31 (Episode 508). Each volume releases at 5 PM PT/8 PM ET.
