The main Tracker cast is once again up to four.
Cassady McClincy Zhang, who was previously recurring as Reenie’s (Fiona Rene) assistant Mel in her law office, has been upped to series regular, Deadline reports. That means there will once again be four series regulars in Season 4 (which premieres on Sunday, October 4) — Justin Hartley, Rene, and Chris Lee.
When Tracker premiered in 2024, there were five regulars with Hartley, Rene, Robin Weigert, Abby McEnany, and Eric Graise. When it returned for Season 2, it did without Weigert, then McEnany and Graise did not return for Season 3. That brought the series regular cast down to two in Hartley and Rene, with Lee at first recurring before he was promoted.
Mel has been a huge help to Reenie at her firm, though she has also taken an interest in Colter’s cases; he works with Reenie and Randy as he searches for missing people across the country. When TV Insider spoke with Hartley during Season 3, we had to ask about the possibility of Mel having an ulterior motive because of that fascination with what Colter does and the fact that there hasn’t been much between those two characters.

“I will tell you, we won’t tackle that this season in a big way. We have a lot to wrap up and a lot to pay off, and that’s sort of a newer add to our show. But to your point, yeah, that’ll be more of a Season 4 thing,” he said at the time.
With Cassady McClincy Zhang now a series regular, it seems like we could be getting just that, along with continuing to work with Reenie on her cases. We’ll have to wait and see how that plays out and if that means that we will get more Colter and Mel interactions, at least perhaps over the phone, given that he’s rarely in the same place as the others (unless she ends up joining him on a case, perhaps if Reenie’s not available?).
