Vin Diesel recently shard an emotional moment with Paul Walker‘s daughter, Meadow Walker, at a screening of The Fast and the Furious at the Cannes Film Festival.
On Wednesday, May 13, a special screening of the film was held to mark the 25th anniversary of the franchise in Cannes, France. Jordana Brewster (Mia Toretto) and Michelle Rodriguez (Letty Ortiz) attended the event, in addition to Diesel (Dominic “Dom” Toretto) and Meadow.
Ahead of the screening, Diesel pointed out that Meadow, 27, was present to represent her late father — who starred as Brian O’Conner in the first seven Fast and the Furious films. Tragically, Paul died at 40 in a 2013 car crash.
“The person who was not going to let me come alone here to represent that brotherhood was Meadow Walker,” Diesel told attendees, who offered an enthusiastic round of applause, as seen in a video People posted on Instagram. “I’m gonna go and shed a tear real quick.”

Additionally, he mentioned the upcoming 11th main film in the franchise, Fast Forever.
“The only reason why we’re making the finale for Fast for 2028… It’s because of each and every one of you that has given us your hearts and your loyalty,” he shared, per People. “Each and every one of you that has felt like you are a part of our family. You make us have to continue. You make us want to make you all proud.”
After the film screening, Meadow called the Fast and the Furious cast a “source of strength” in her life. Diesel also told her that Paul would be “so proud” of her, before he wiping tears from his eyes and embracing Meadow in a long hug.

In 2015, Meadow founded the Paul Walker Foundation two years after her father’s death. She also made a cameo as a flight attendant in 2023’s Fast X.
