the last of us season two ellie and dina travel to seattle HBO

The same day that we learn about HBO Max price hikes, October 21, is the same day as other interesting news about Warner Bros. Discovery hits the web. After many rumors and speculation about it being for sale, it appears that this is the truth. Warner Bros. Discovery is for sale, and its board of directors says that it “has initiated a review of strategic alternatives to maximize shareholder value.” That’s a fancy way of saying the entity is available for purchase.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, there is currently “unsolicited interest” from “multiple parties” who want to possibly buy Warner Bros. Discovery.

“We continue to make important strides to position our business to succeed in today’s evolving media landscape by advancing our strategic initiatives, returning our studios to industry leadership, and scaling HBO Max globally,” David Zaslav, the president and CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, said in a statement. “We took the bold step of preparing to separate the Company into two distinct, leading media companies, Warner Bros. and Discovery Global, because we strongly believed this was the best path forward.”

“It’s no surprise that the significant value of our portfolio is receiving increased recognition by others in the market,” Zaslav continued. “After receiving interest from multiple parties, we have initiated a comprehensive review of strategic alternatives to identify the best path forward to unlock the full value of our assets.”

Well, this is all quite interesting. We will see what happens with this Warner Bros. Discovery sale and maybe learn who those mysterious parties are who may want to buy it.
