Watch Daniel Craig emotionally bid farewell to James Bond on 'No Time to Die' set

"A lot of people here worked on five pictures with me, and I know there's a lot of things said about what I think about these films ... but I've loved every single second of these movies—and especially this one because I've got up every morning, and I've had the chance to work with you guys," Craig says in the 25-second clip. "And that has been one of the greatest honors of my life."

The 53-year-old actor debuted as Bond in Casino Royale (2006) and maintained the iconic role through Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012) and Spectre (2015) to set up his grand finale in No Time To Die.

For a time after Spectre, there was legitimate doubt that Craig would return for another installment.

"I thought I probably was physically not capable of doing another," Craig explained in a July feature for GamesRadar+/Total Film, and the publication noted "a punishing six-month shoot" that resulted in a torn meniscus for Crag. "For me, it was very cut and dried that I wasn’t coming back."

"I went and did other things," he continued. "I got some separation. My family forgave me for being away from home for that length of time. We started talking about it and I went, ‘There might be a story we need to finish here—something we started in Casino [Royale]. Something to do with Vesper, and Spectre, and something that was connected, in a way.' It started to formulate. And I thought, 'Here we go.'"

Now, Craig is certain that No Time To Die is his last.
