The Strangers are welcoming audiences to Venus, Oregon, for the second chapter of the horror trilogy. In addition to an official trailer, Lionsgate is also giving fans a way to explore the town’s history in an online Archive; the password is welcometovenus! On the website, you can even book from a selection of secluded cabins, using the code istamarahere at checkout.
The Strangers are back – more brutal and relentless than ever. When they learn that one of their victims, Maya, is still alive, they return to finish what they’ve started. With nowhere to run and no one to trust, Maya must survive another horrific chapter of terror as The Strangers – driven by a senseless, unceasing purpose – pursue her, more than willing to kill anyone who stands in their way.
Madelaine Petsch returns to star as Maya alongside Gabriel Basso and Ema Horvath.
Renny Harlin directs once again with Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland writing. Producers include Courtney Solomon, Mark Canton, Christopher Milburn, Gary Raskin, Alastair Burlingham, and Charlie Dombek.
All three movies were shot at once, and the story takes place over the span of five days. "This first film is a retelling of the 2008 original that is very beloved, including by me. But it’s also a launch pad into chapters two and three, which are a departure from anything you’ve ever seen," Petsch told The Hollywood Reporter. "It becomes more of a character study, mentally, emotionally, and physically. What happens when a person is pushed far beyond their breaking point? Who are they left with?"
The Strangers - Chapter 2 will be released in theaters on September 26. A release date for the third and final chapter has not yet been announced.
