Wednesday’s Season 2 Dance Scene Is an Unexpected Delight

Wednesday season two is officially complete with Part 2’s recent arrival. We got a lot of wild action, from Tyler’s twisted family reunion to major secrets from Morticia. The Frump women are the true MVPs and Enid is literally the best friend ever. Even Pugsley gets to flex his powers a bit before it’s all said and done. But, one thing that fans really wanted was another viral dance moment from Wednesday, our favorite child of woe. While Jenna Ortega previously said that she wasn’t aware of a big dance break, we do actually get another very unexpected dance moment from Wednesday in season two… well, sort of.

In episode 6, Wednesday is trying to find Tyler and Francoise, a Willow Hall patient that escaped at the end of Part 1. We discover that she’s actually a Hyde, Tyler’s mother, and the sister of Isaac Night, whom we previously knew as Pugsley’s zombie Slurp. (Episode 8 reveals that Isaac was Gomez’s former best friend who tried to kill him. It’s a LOT.)

Wednesday goes to Grandmama Frump for help and learns about Rosaline Rotwood, a former Nevermore Academy professor who taught Grandmama and Raven who is long dead. She’s the namesake for the cottage that Morticia and Gomez are living in on campus and her grave at Nevermore is quite the powerful place. If a Raven touches it and recites the inscription on it, then they will unlock psychic sight. Despite it being a bad idea, Wednesday does it but Enid accidentally interrupts and there’s a price to pay. The pair have hilariously ended up in a Freaky Friday situation where they have swapped bodies.

Later on, Enid becomes upset after reading some not-so-flattering words about her in one of Wednesday’s writings. She decides to get revenge on Wednesday while in her body by throwing on a wildly colorful sweater, a plaid skirt, purple tights, and the most colorful boots ever. She loosens up Wednesday’s usually tightly-coiffed pigtails does a full-on dance to BLACKPINK’s very pulsing and pop “Boombaya” in front of students in the common area.

Everyone is rightly confused by Wednesday Addams dancing wildly in season two, but things go even more wrong. She hasn’t taken an important allergy concoction and Wednesday is apparently allergic to colors, so her face begins to break out. Enid (in Wednesday’s body) starts screaming from profuse itching. There’s live video of course, and Wednesday (in Enid’s body) is not happy about the situation at all.

Enid enjoys the video later but she’s upset to learn that Wednesday went and broke up with her boyfriend. But, it’s for good reason considering he lied about having a girlfriend back home. So, we do get a little dancey dance moment in Wednesday season two, thanks to Enid’s funny revenge.

Enid and Wednesday are eventually able to break the spell by truly learning more about and understanding each other. It strengthens their bond as friends, which comes into play during the final episodes. Enid makes a dangerous choice to wolf out and save Wednesday’s life. Wednesday is now on her way North to find her friend Enid to see if she can possibly help her turn back into her human form. Embarrassing each other via video in one moment and saving each other from certain death in the next? Now that’s a good friendship.
