What ‘Yaga’ Play Reveals About Hudson Williams’ Two Characters

Get ready to see double of Hudson Williams. Yaga, AMC+’s witchy thriller, has just revealed that the Heated Rivalry star is playing two characters in the series, premiering in October.

As previously announced, Williams plays Henry Park in Yaga, but that’s not all. Williams is actually playing two characters, Henry and Logan, the series revealed on Instagram on September 10. There are no character new details beyond that, but the play on which Yaga is based reveals some context that could be informative.

In the directions for the stage play by Kat Sandler, who also serves as writer and showrunner, the same man plays the roles of Charlie Rapp, a private investigator in his late 20s, and Henry Kalles, a student in his early 20s. The Vampire Lestat and Schitt’s Creek star Noah Reid plays Rapp in the TV show, and Williams plays Henry and Logan. Logan appears to have been created for the show, and Henry’s last name has been changed.

Yaga is a Crave Original series that reimagines the myth of Baba Yaga as a contemporary mystery thriller set in a small coastal town.

Baba Yaga is a female character from Slavic folklore. Depending on the story, she’s either an evil witch who fries and eats children or a nice old woman who helps the hero.

Yaga follows Rapp (Reid), a private investigator who arrives in a small coastal town to investigate the disappearance of a young heir to a powerful fishery, Henry Park (Williams).

He finds himself at odds with an apprehensive local detective, Carson (Clark Backo), a charismatic university professor with a taste for younger men, Katherine (Carrie-Anne Moss), and a labyrinth of enigmatic suspects, secret lives, and ancient magic.

The series is a Crave original, the Canadian streamer that made Heated Rivalry, and it’s streaming on AMC+ in the United States starting in October. The cast will have a panel at New York Comic Con on Friday, October 9.

Produced by Front Street Pictures and Blink49 Studios in partnership with Crave, Yaga is co-directed by David Frazee and Rachel Talalay.
