Which Disney princes would make the best and worst boyfriends?

Disney is about the fantasy of this and that. Whether it’s the idea that one day an animal will be one’s sidekick on adventures, toys can talk, or that fairy tale romances exist. With that, one has to wonder how good (or bad) the men of Disney would be if they all of a sudden were real and could be a viable dating option. Would people swipe right or left? Would they be father material? Those are all questions Disney fans have pondered, but today is about whether or not Disney princes would make great boyfriends.

Prince Eric, 'The Little Mermaid'

Prince Eric, 'The Little Mermaid'
Walt Disney Pictures

Some might say, well, Prince Eric forgot what Ariel looked like when they first met, but to be fair, he’d just been in a shipwreck, so forgive him for not being the sharpest tool in the shed at that moment. That’s nothing to be bothered by because, in reality, Prince Eric would be an excellent boyfriend just so long as his perfect match was an adventurous soul who craved a world beyond the norm.

Hans, 'Frozen'

Hans, 'Frozen'
Walt Disney Pictures

If there were a Disney dictionary, Hans’ picture would be underneath “trash.” This is not the type of guy anyone wants or deserves.

Simba, 'The Lion King'

Simba, 'The Lion King'
Walt Disney Pictures

Does Simba run away from his problems? Yes, but only when said problems are that he thinks he murdered his dad. Besides that, he’s a loyal leader who will always care for those he loves.

Prince Charming, 'Cinderella'

Prince Charming, 'Cinderella'
Walt Disney Pictures

The way this man danced with Cinderella all night and could not recall her face and put his future in the hands, or rather feet, of a lost shoe? And he wasn’t even under any sort of spell, nor had a head injury. This would be the type of boyfriend who never remembered birthdays, anniversaries, or what his girlfriend just said five minutes ago.

Prince Naveen, 'The Princess and the Frog'

Prince Naveen, 'The Princess and the Frog'
Walt Disney Pictures

Prince Naveen did not start out as great boyfriend material. Thankfully, though, living as a frog was just what he needed to be transformed into a wonderful partner.

Peter Pan, 'Peter Pan'

Peter Pan, 'Peter Pan'
Walt Disney Pictures

Peter Pan’s whole vibe is that he’s childish, and if you two were 16, that might fly. If one were looking for a grown man who could handle grown business, though, being with Peter would not result in a fairy tale ending. Plus, he’s got a girl on the side.

Hercules, 'Hercules'

Hercules, 'Hercules'
Walt Disney Pictures

Hercules let fame go to his head once but soon learned what mattered most in life: those he loved. So, with a major lesson learned, this god with the bod would be an excellent contender to swipe right on.

Prince Phillip, 'Sleeping Beauty'

Prince Phillip, 'Sleeping Beauty'
Walt Disney Pictures

Prince Phillip is cute and has some charm to him, but there is absolutely no substance. He’d be a great one-night stand, at best.

Beast, 'Beauty and the Beast'

Beast, 'Beauty and the Beast'
Walt Disney Pictures

Beast had more issues than Vogue when Belle rolled up to his castle, but the best thing about this guy was that after he let his guard down, he was willing to learn and change. The ability to grow into a better person for someone you care for? That’s glorious.

John Smith, 'Pocahontas'

John Smith, 'Pocahontas'
Walt Disney Pictures

A colonizer? Yeah, no thanks.

Prince Edward, 'Enchanted'

Prince Edward, 'Enchanted'
Walt Disney Pictures

Prince Edward had major himbo energy. When all was said and done, he only wanted what was best for everyone, including the person he thought he loved and the woman he actually found a connection with.

The Prince, 'Snow White'

The Prince, 'Snow White'
Walt Disney Pictures

The Prince from Snow White is so basic that even his royal status isn’t enough. Swipe left and keep on searching.

Flik, 'A Bug's Life'

Flik, 'A Bug's Life'
Walt Disney Pictures

Flik is industrious, the type of guy who will always push himself and those around him to be and do better, and the world needs a lot more like him.

Aladdin, 'Aladdin'

Aladdin, 'Aladdin'
Walt Disney Pictures

While Aladdin may just be one of the most beloved Disney characters and a crush for many…he’s not exactly boyfriend material. That is because when a relationship starts with a lie, that is never a good sign.

Li Shang, 'Mulan'

Li Shang, 'Mulan'
Walt Disney Pictures

Great work ethic and can instantaneously win over family, and both score Li Shang major boyfriend points.

Donald Duck

Donald Duck
Walt Disney Pictures

If Donald Duck were to admit to himself that he needed therapy for those anger issues, he might have potential, but until then, it's a no.

Kristoff, 'Frozen'

Kristoff, 'Frozen'
Walt Disney Pictures

There is something about Kristoff’s energy that is reminiscent of Jim Halpert from The Office in the earlier seasons, and for that, Kristoff is on the “good boyfriend” list.

Kuzco, 'The Emperor's New Groove'

Kuzco, 'The Emperor's New Groove'
Walt Disney Pictures

Kuzco did undergo some transformations, but something about how incredibly horrible he was can’t be forgotten. It’s one of those things where it might be risky to fall for him, and then he reverts to his old ways.

Robin Hood, 'Robin Hood'

Robin Hood, 'Robin Hood'
Walt Disney Pictures

Robin Hood is a bad boy for all the right reasons, and that’s reason enough to declare him as one of the best.

Flynn Rider, 'Tangled'

Flynn Rider, 'Tangled'
Walt Disney Pictures

Flynn Rider is the type of guy who would leave in the middle of the night and not leave a note and then reach out several weeks later with a “U up?” text.
