He’s here! Finally, one of the cutest, most iconic members of the Super Mario team is joining up with the rest on the big screen. The new trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie gives us our first look at Yoshi in the film. And, as always, we absolutely love him. Yoshi has been an incredible part of the franchise since 1990, so, of course, it was only a matter of time. And after seeing Yoshi go toe-to-toe with a real T. rex in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie trailer, we are, in fact, obsessed with him. And the fun doesn’t stop with Yoshi, of course; this new Super Mario Galaxy Movie trailer is chock-full of Super Mario Easter eggs that true fans will adore. So what are you waiting for? Watch it below!

Poor Yoshi. Everyone thinks he’s a monster. But we know that he isn’t. When Mario and Luigi come to handle a “troubled” pipe in the desert, the little Tostarenans in the desert point at a scary crack with a creature inside. But instead, Mario and Luigi meet their favorite little guy of all inside the cave, why yes, it’s a Yoshi! And there’s no one we’d rather see than Yoshi in this The Super Mario Galaxy movie’s trailer. We don’t get to see too much of their upcoming adventures, but we do love Toad’s unimpressed “in sum,” “So some dinosaur just shows up, and he’s now part of the group, cool.”
Yoshi aside, the rest of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie trailer offers a few quick new scenes with many exciting Easter eggs. Here are our favorites.
Yoshi is so cool, he does deserve his own The Super Mario Galaxy Movie trailer. We can’t wait to see more of him soon when The Super Mario Galaxy Movie releases in theaters on April 1. The synopsis for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie shares, “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is an animated film based on the world of Super Mario Bros., and follows The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which was released in 2023 and earned more than $1.3 billion worldwide. Both the 2023 film and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are produced by Chris Meledandri of Illumination and Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo.”
(And before we forget to say, yes, a real T.rex is ALSO a Super Mario Easter egg; they do exist in the games.)
